Sutton Hall, Univeristy of Texas, Austin, Texas After the war he attended college on "The G.I. Bill". He was informed by the Dean that he had made a new high score in the college entrance exams. During his third semester of studies toward a degree in engineering, he learned of a Bureau of Labor Statistics forecast that that there would be a huge surplus of engineers in the USA by the end of year 1949. He then left college while reassessing his educational goals. After more than a year of travel and work, he returned to his studies and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree with minors in engineering, economics, and biology; and having completed more than 150% of the requirements for a major in Psychology.

He was then selected into a Civil Service Commission approved 30-month long training and work program, spiked with periodic promotions. Thus a career in the federal service was initiated in which he served in the above mentioned kinds of service at several military instalations and at five major headquarters. Several of his unique achievements received attention and commendation within the Pentagon, with the final one making its way into the Office of the Secretary of Defense shortly before his retirement in 1983.

1955-present: Married a good woman, raised children, and live a good life together

Martha Anne Christian is a second generation American citizen of Austrian and German ancestry. Her maternal great grandfather was a professor of music at the University of Munich, and his children were educated in the fine arts. His daughter, Ada, at the age of ninety, was still playing the piano at the annual fairs of the German-speaking town of Fredericksburg, Texas. Martha Anne had a typical American childhood. In highschool she participated in student activities, became a cheer-leader, and excelled academically. Special talents and abilities began to spring forth and flourish in her early adult years; supporting her successes as a school teacher, as a salesperson, as an operations manager, and as a wife and a mother. As the years passed by, she continued increasingly devoted with her husband in their love of the divine life in Christ.

1972: Baptized by Jesus Christ into His newness of life

In 1971 they moved to Hampton, Virginia. A new friend invited them to attend her church. It was a congregation of about thirty who were meeting in a small building and manifesting the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Their zeal for the Lord Jesus and their Bible knowledge were freely shared. In only a couple of months John and Martha Anne learned much about the kingdom of God, about the gospel, about Jesus Christ, about the Holy Ghost, about being born again, about being filled with the Holy Ghost, about eternal life in Christ, and about other related matters. They were drawn into a love for our Lord Jesus such as they had never known before. During the meeting on 30 January 1972 they were simultaneously enveloped in a bright gentle sparkling light and were lifted into a spirit of love, joy, and peace. Jesus had baptized them into His spiritual body of Christ.

1973: Divine Ordination

In the Summer of 1973 he was startled when the Lord suddenly caught him up in the Spirit and verbally ordained him into His ministry. However, in 1972 our Lord Jesus had already begun using him to minister with the Holy Spirit to ordained ministers who were in need of help. That kind of ministry seems to have been a preview from the Lord to let the newly ordained John Christian know the primary work that would be expected of him in an extended life-long evangelical ministry. But It took a while for him to understand that. He had never thought about being a minister. And, Like many others, he mistakenly thought that ministerial ordinations were for one purpose only ~~ to make pulpit preaching pastors.

1974-1978: His early ministry.

In 1974 Reverend Christian began preaching over a local radio station. During that time, a Methodist church offered to send him to a seminary, with an annual stipend of six thousand dollars and a church to pastor. The Lord brought about circumstances that made it clear that this was not the kind of ministry He wanted him to perform. He coninued in local radio work, invitational preaching, and personal evangelism while studying in a program of formal ministerial courses offered by the Bible Extension Institute of the Evangelical Church Alliance. Then, while he was still pastoring an independent congregation of about fifty Christians in 1977 and 1978, the Lord made it strongly clear that none of this measured up to the higher and far-reaching ministry that He required him to perform.

1978-2005: The Living Word Crusade

The Lord then concentrated John Christian's ministry into one comprehensive drive; a work in which he served with the Holy Spirit in the development of English speaking evangelical Christians and their ministries. This work became known as the "Living Word Crusade". That ministry operated for more than twenty-five years in lands that included the Philippines, India, Singapore, Nigeria, Canada, and the USA. Money matters were minimized. There were no membership fees or dues, but members were expected to fund their evangelical works from their own tithes and personal resources. Under the direct inspiration of the Holy Spirit, all of the literature and guidance materials were written, published, and air mailed freely to the members by Reverend Christian. It was all paid for out of his tithes from his secular employment. Through postal air mail, individual members and groups of members were encouraged, counseled, and guided in their personal evangelism and in their operation of "Living Word Crusade Evangelical Centers". In these centers they studied, trained, planned, and reached out into their geographic surroundings with the divine gospel ~~ making disciples for Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Present:

Now in semi-retirement, he remains available in the Hampton, Virginia, vicinity for ministering the gospel of salvation as the Lord may direct.

Almighty God (the supreme Spirit and prime power of being) is our Father who sent Jesus Christ (His only begotten son) into this sin-infested world to destroy the works of the devil, to seek and to save God's lost ones, and to baptize us with the Holy Ghost into the spiritual "body of Christ" (His church). Jesus has assigned us work to do. He has ascended back into heaven to prepare a place for us. He is seated beside God our Father where He hears our prayers and ever liveth to make intercession for us. He will return again some day to carry us into the unspeakable joy of everlasting life with God our Father, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit, the angels, and the saints. ~~~ This alone should be enough to bring forth shouts of "Halleluiah!" echoing through all the generations ~~~ A-men.
